The town of Liliw, Laguna is situated beside the foot of Mt. Banahaw with an elevation of 1000ft above sea level. It is widely known as the "Tsinelas Capital" of the Philippines because of its footwear-making industry. Today, another attraction has caught my attention which is an organic strawberry farm that was featured in several TV shows owned by Brgy. Capt. Mario Cortez of Barangay Ilayang Sungi.
The Lolo Kap's Strawberry farm is located 4.2 km farther from the town's poblacion with a total altitude of 1960ft above sea level which has the familiar cool and soothing breeze almost similar to that of Benguet which is ideal for strawberries to thrive. It can be accessed by a narrow farm to market road. The farm is characterized by several rows of strawberry plants, sweet basil, tomatoes, broccoli and other fruit trees which also includes a coffee tree.
How to Get There:
1. Ride a bus bound to Sta Cruz.
2. From Sta. Cruz, you can ride a jeep bound for Liliw.
** Alternatively you can go to Liliw via San Pablo City.
3. Once in Liliw Poblacion, you can flagged a trike and tell the driver that you are going to Lolo Kap's Strawberry farm (One way is 100pesos good for 2 person).
